Potton is about ten minutes from us close enough that we're in and out of the town regularly, and close enough to come and look at a job without it being an expedition.

The historic core around the market square is a conservation area, which brings tighter control over anything visible from the street, materials, windows, rooflines and frontage alterations in particular. Outside it, most single-storey rear extensions on the newer estates fall within permitted development. Older properties in the centre also throw up more surprises once you open them up, which is worth building into a budget rather than discovering halfway through.
